Success!





Hello everyone! Last weekend, the West Coast Women's Paddling Festival went off without a hitch. Ladies from throughout the Northwest came to the event and they are the ones that made this event such a success! We had a great turn out for the Head to Head race and the Eight Ball. This was a great first year! Here are the results from the races:

West Coast Women's Paddle Fest



Come on out for a weekend of competition, celebration, and good times with the ladies of the Northwest! This event is the first of it's kind. Women of the East and West Coast agree that a women's event would be fantabulous. Guys- please come on out for your own event, too!

Friday Night: June 20



Registration: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. BZ Corners Launch Point

Camping: Free Camping at Wet Planet North (directions at Registration site)

Wet Planet Whitewater is graciously allowing us to camp on their property. They request "no fires" policy and we should leave the camping area as we found it.

Saturday: June 21

Boat/Paddle Demo - ALL DAY (only allowed on Middle and Lower White Salmon/Northwestern Lake) - Come check out the newest boats from Liquidlogic, Jackson Kayak, and Dagger and place an AT paddle in your hands for the first time!

8:00 - 9:00 a.m. YOGA (Bring your own mat or towel)

8:00 - 10:00 a.m. Registration at BZ Corners Launch Point - Registration closes for all Saturday's events at this time.

Entry fee for all races: $10.00 per event - if you compete in more than one event, the second and third events are $8.00

ACA insurance: $5.00

Dinner/party only: $7.00

Dinner/party for participants: FREE

Paddle and Pamper Clinic: $85.00 gear/transportation/lunch/spa treatment/massage included (please register for this course at Wet Planet Whitewater located downstream of Husum Falls)

10:00 - 3:00 a.m. Guided Trips down sections of the White Salmon (see sign-up sheets at the Registration site)

10:30 a.m. Racer's Meeting at BZ Corners

11:00 a.m. Head to Head Race - Maytag through Top Drop (Class IV)

3:30 p.m. Racer's Meeting at Husum Falls

4:00 p.m. Men's (no we didn't want to leave you boys completely out) & Women's 8-ball competition - Below Husum through Rattlesnake Rapid

6:00 p.m. BBQ and Social at Rattlesnake Rapid/Wet Planet

7:30 p.m. Awards ceremony for Saturday's events/raffle

9:00 p.m. Film showing of "Toxic Waters" and "Here and Now" as well as a slide show of the days events.
